Welcome to the KC Fringe 2024 performance application! KC FRINGE Festival performance dates are: Thursday July 18th- Sunday July 28th We are a first come first serve festival. March 3 all participants will be contacted for acceptance or wait list. Here are other dates of interest: Feb 28 - Application Closes March 3rd - Offer letters will be sent out March 10th - Producer Payment Due March 30th - Withdrawal with full refund deadline. June 15th - Tickets go on sale Performance Technical rehearsals July 15-17th Flash Preview Night July 18th. Live Performances July 19-28th. Best of Venue performances and closing party July 28th. Fringe Film July 12-14th. Visual Arts 14-28th KC Fringe is committed to provide a respectful, safe environment free from harassment, violence, discrimination, bullying, and abuse. Read this information and fill out the form, with contact information, and choice of venue size. Let us know if you are touring and if you have any other special concerns. We contact artists March 3rd and we will announce companies/artists March 15th, and producer fees will be due March 10th Choose your venue size, all venues are accessible. Should I apply? KC Fringe is a place for established and new artists. It is fast-paced, low tech and shows are presented in repertory, each production receiving 5 performances. We will do our best to place you in the best venue for your show and give you the best possible schedule. The better you can communicate your needs the better we can support you. What if I am a touring artist? We are happy to have touring artist and will support you in your efforts. What if I applied to the Midwest Touring Trifecta? (https://minnesotafringe.org/producer-funding) Should I still apply? Yes! Our application is free and if you apply and do not get into the Trifecta. What we provide your production: An environment that facilitates an independent creative process and the opportunity to perform for an audience that is eager and willing to support new performances and creations. A choice of venue size (standard or large) with basic lighting and tech set up. Five performances that Fringe will schedule at your venue. The schedule of your performances listed in the Fringe program guide and on the Fringe website along with your show description and photo. One 3-hour technical rehearsal at the venue in the days immediately prior to the festival so you can set up and run through your show. A technician to run your show. Full box office service including online and at the show ticket sales. At least one box office staff and one front of house/usher staff. Publicity for the festival as a whole, teaser and press opportunities. Marketing and producing support. Festival artists receive rush comps, special ad rates in the program guide, and comp tickets for their shows. At least 60% of the box office receipts to be paid by Thursday, August 31, 2024. What you will provide: A show from 45-60 minutes long, that can load in and out of the space in 10 minutes on either side. Original work or the rights for your production. Information and promotional materials for your production. All physical things needed for your show (props, sets, costumes, stage manager, ideas on lighting and sound cues, etc.) Promotion for your show. We promote the festival, you are responsible for promoting your show. We will help you with ideas and resources. Any required permits or special insurance for your production. PRIMARY CONTACT

All Fringe correspondence will be sent to the Primary Contact Person only. Only the Primary Contact Person is authorized to submit or make changes to show and company information. Please check your email regularly as this is the only way the Fringe will communicate with you. The primary contact is responsible for turning in all paperwork for everyone involved with that company.

VENUE OPTIONS

The KC Fringe Festival venues will be filled on a first-come-first-served basis. Performance venues will be assigned by the festival based on your choice of venue size.

The application fee varies and is based on the size of venue that you choose below.

Note: Standard Venue Size is 50-99 seats $400 Large is 100+ seats $500 Payment is due March 10th
Please list any special needs your production will require, such as a particular stage floor surface in your venue, wheelchair-accessible stage, or space for a very large cast and crew.
Are you producing a show specifically aimed at kids 12 and under?
Have you ever participated in a show at the KC Fringe before?
Are you or your company from the Greater Kansas City area?
This application will be considered a legal agreement between you and the Kansas City Fringe Festival.

We reserve the right to refuse any application.

The Kansas City Fringe is unjuried and uncensored. Performance slots are filled on a first come, first served basis. The first 60 fully paid applicants are guaranteed performance slots in the 2023 KC Fringe Festival. Any remaining fully paid applications will be put on a waiting list in the order received.

All performing companies agree to adhere to the laws of Missouri, the ordinances of the City of Kansas City, Missouri, and the policies and procedures of the KC Fringe Festival, stated within this document.

The KC Fringe Festival reserves the right to cancel any performances of companies or artists not adhering to this agreement. All performers must individually sign a waiver of liability form and provide a signed copy to the Fringe office no later than July 14, 2023.

The application fee is due with your application by February 28, 2023. We cannot assign you a performance slot until we receive your full payment. Venue assignments and show schedules will be completed by May 15, 2023.

Do not call your venue for any reason.

The venue is simply providing the space. KC Fringe has complete control of how that space is set-up and managed. You jeopardize the venue's participation if you contact them. The venue cannot and will not answer your questions.

Application fees will be processed upon receipt. Companies may withdraw from the festival with a full refund before May 1, 2023. Cancellations are accepted only from the primary contact, and only in writing. Companies that withdraw after May 1, 2023, forfeit their application fee.
